Pets and Wildlife

Just a reminder that we are in the countryside and experience a lot of wildlife in Falcon Ridge.  We are fortunate to have doves, quail, pheasants, red tailed hawks, falcons, great horned owls, rattlesnakes, bull snakes (which are good because the eat the rattlesnakes) and coyotes.  We’ve seen porcupines and badgers.  At times we even see elk running along the fence lines or on our properties.

Unfortunately, we have black widow spiders and scorpions, too  – so keep an eye out for them.

Pets should adhere to county requirements and are supposed to stay on their own property unless in your control on walks through the neighborhood.  Pets are certainly welcome and encouraged, but please be aware that without proper precautions your little pet may become food for the wildlife!
